Unboxing thales vessel link and Iridium certus from AST

Hey Guys, the good news first : AST UK is supporting Lifgun’s Ostar 2020 campaign - which is great. AST is a leading partner of Iridium and will support Lifgun with airtime and knowhow. We are totally excited !! However, today arrived the Thales Vessel Link unit - awesome !! With this thing I’m able to connect with 352 kbit/s for now and with 704 kbit/s later on to the Iridium satellites ! How cool is that ?? The outside unit is around 3 kg, which is great. Lifgun will be probably one of the first sailing vessels which are equipped with the new Iridium Certus technology !! I’m so excited ….. Keep you postet and will try to document the installation process. Cheers guys.
